Hey fam and friends and whoever else is still following along! I am doing well out here! Everything is super green but it is still cold... It was 45 degrees yesterday... Lame. Here is what we did this week!
The Spanish finding keeps on rolling. We picked up another Puerto Rican investigator on Monday night and a Mexican on Tuesday. It's amazing how many hidden Spanish speakers you can find as you're on the look out! It's been great and I hope they keep progressing! We have also been meeting up with a lot of part member families! That is the best way to do missionary work. We met with the Paulhamus family and the kids want to be baptized! These kids are just full of the light of Christ and I love teaching them!
Nadia is starting to dodge us and she's 10 years old... Not good. She has a baptismal date for the 28th but it's not looking too hot. She didn't want to meet with us because she was tired... Are we not doing nap time at school these days? Not much you can do with sassy little girls. It was pretty sad to hear her say she didn't want to learn when we prepared a great lesson but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles. Pray for her. The Hoffman family fed all 4 of us missionaries on Wednesday and that was insane. They have 9 daughters and 1 son. Bless their hearts. I think they have a YouTube channel called "All boys except 9" so if you want to look into that give it a go! He's also the stake president so he's kind of a big deal around here. They're a great family and definitely have their heads on straight! They're the type of people that you look at and can tell they're living right! They have that light we so often speak about in the church! I think that's something we should all strive for!
We had MLC again on Friday which is always a highlight for me! We are always taught great things that I need to be better at! There's so many awesome missionaries throughout the mission and it's always good to see them! President had me play the piano and I'll have my Mom know that I played two hymns with not too many mistakes. Amazing. After that Elder Averett corralled 20 missionaries into going out to eat. We all invaded Chilis and enjoyed some fine dining for my birthday! It was probably the best day you could ask for as a missionary!
We did a lot of planning and service this week so maybe that's why I don't have funny stories... Sorry y'all. We helped a family move out and stacked a TON of food that will later go to people in need. Service brings blessings to all involved so it's good! Plus I think it's sometimes needed to switch up the daily routine and just do some physical labor. I don't have any complaints!
Church is always good. We have a great Ward! The only sad part is when people who have fed you dinner before come up to you and say: "Oh we have a new missionary!" "Where are you from?" Oh well. Asà es la vida. This is really random, but we saw a black bear on the side of the highway. PA is wild and I freaked out a little bit when I saw it. Nature is neat.
This week kinda flew by so I don't have anything super profound to say. As things are wrapping up for a lot of people whether that be at school or your mission I would challenge you to think of what legacy you want to leave. Our mission president challenged us to do that and I think it's an awesome idea! Especially Seniors in high school! How do you want to be remembered? I love Pres. Monson's talk about choices. They are so crucial. Love you all and thanks for the support!
That's all for today folks.
Have a good one,
