Hola familia y amigos!! Been a wild week but I'm happy to hear how things are going with you all! Shout out to those who got mission calls and what not! Always good to hear!
Tuesday
Super long day. We woke up at 4:45 and headed to Pittsburgh for a meeting at 10:00 for Elder Andrade. I was not invited so I got to walk around Pittsburgh for 3 hours or so with a bunch of other missionaries! It was pretty sweet! Then I drove a minivan across PA to Harrisburg. Long drive. Got all my stuff and headed up to Williamsport! We got home super late and I was beat! My new comp is Elder Montgomery from Oregon! Here we gooooo!
Wednesday
Had an awesome first day here in Williamsport! Highlight of the day was this blessing we gave to a lady from Wales! She is recovering from some pretty crazy stuff and her member friend asked us to give her a blessing! She was soooo thankful. I think she might have said thank you fifty times no joke. We explained what the priesthood was and she seemed interested! It was another busy day but Williamsport is great! I met some members and I think I will really like it here!!
Thursday
Did a lot of weekly planning and I got to know a lot more about the area! We also did some service at this food bank type of thing! A little different but not too bad! We met the Fuentes family and they are great!! Elder Montgomery told me I would love them and he was right! They are hilarious!! Bro. Fuentes is from Santiago, Chile so shouts to B Siv. Him and his wife both speak fluent Spanish so I'm happy. Mircales do happen. We had a good time with them and they fed us some awesome food! Willy does work.
Friday
We had MLC in Altoona! For those who don't know what that is, fear not. I got you. It's a monthly meeting with Pres. Johnson with all of the zone and sister training leaders! We get trained on what needs to happen for the zone trainings and also we work out issues and things like that! It was pretty sweet! I liked being able to have a small say in some of the things that are going on! We also drove through state college and it was cool to see Penn States stadium a little bit! This took up like all of our day and we had a quick lesson to top it off!
Saturday
Conference! I thought there were a lot of good messages and it'll be good to read them again when the time comes! We watched one of the sessions with this super old lady in the Ward named Lori Kaye. She's a mission legend. Lori Kaye is 98 years young and totally with it. She has called us every night since I've been here to make sure we were safe at home. She cracks me up, and it was especially funny when she started snoring during a couple of the talks. She was so worried when she woke up that she had missed "Tommy." Hah bless her heart. We snuck in a couple lessons in between sessions and it was a good day!
Sunday
More conference. Also the stake presidents daughter was baptized so that was sweet!! I thought conference was great. It seemed like every session ended early though... Does anyone know what's going on there? I loved seeing how all of my questions were answered in one way or another! Also Elder Holland is great. Sometimes I feel like he looks into my soul from the TV and I kinda like that. He's a great man.
Well everyone, this week has definitely been the busiest of my mission! It seems live we've been all over the place but it's great! I've learned a lot and it's goooood. It feels great to have one week under my belt in this new area and I think this zone will do work this transfer!!
I hope everyone is doing well and all that good stuff!
Much love from Willy,
