Week 34 "I'll be baptized 100 times"

Tuesday
We had this awesome lesson with our new investigator Andy! We got there at the perfect time!! He was having a really hard day because his Grandma had just gone into the hospital after her heart attack. We felt like we needed to go earlier instead of late and it turned out to be the Holy Ghost guiding us there! It was great. We shared with him a little bit of the plan of salvation and how we know what will happen to us after we die. It was super powerful and some tears were shed by Andy. We invited him to be baptized and he responded: "Absolutely man. I'll be baptized 100 times. Just let me know when you are having a baptism and I'm there." Hah woaaaahhh. We definitely have some things to go over with him but we are pretty pumped. He also thinks there needs to be more vigilante justice. Hah do your part people.

Wednesday
I went on a blitz with Elder Kotter! We had a pretty sweet day! A little scary because I had to lead out our massive area after just a few weeks here but we managed! We saw some people I have never met which is always good! I'm finally putting some faces to names and it feels great. Also Qdoba hooked us up so that was sweet. Not sure if they have those in Utah but oh well... They gave us a free meal and told us to spread the good "words" meaning the gospel and that Qdoba has good food. Count this as me following through with that. I may have had my hair cut in the church gym as well. If that's not taking advantage of lunch time I don't know what is. I've been out for a little while now and have only paid for one hair cut.  Momma taught me well. This was a scattered day but we talked to a ton of people all over the place and it's great! That's one of my favorite parts of missionary work, just talking to people from all walks of life! Everyone has a story and the people of PA usually like to share it! It's a great day to be alive.

Thursday
We helped move a couch out of a racist ladies house. She gave us a sandwich after so that was kind. We had another good visit with Christian. He's the 19 year old we've been visiting. He's awesome and we hope for the best there! We had service at the Son Light House church which is usually pretty good! It's just us and a bunch of old people helping out people on welfare! We get to talk to a lot of gente so I'm happy! After that we had dinner at the Fuentes house! That's always a highlight.  He made us these amazing Chilean hamburgers and I always love speaking Spanish with them! Elder Montgomery is determined to learn as well and he has started to pray in Spanish.  Estoy contento.

Friday
We had an appointment with the "I'll be baptized 100 times" guy but his grandma passed away and he was super busy prepping stuff for the funeral. Pray for him please! We found another latino escondido as I call it so those are always a bonus. His name is Art and he's a stud! Funny moment of the day comes from some kids who asked us if we were security guards... I guess you could say that. Securing your salvation. Anyways, there were some kids that thought they were something special sitting on the porch so we went up to talk to them and they all ran away.  They thought it was funny but I didn't. They were talking mean game until it came time to talk REAL stuff.

Saturday
We went on a little road trip with the Samuelsons. By road trip I mean they took us to the boonies of our area.  In the top corner of our area there's a town called Dushore which has the only stop light in all of Sullivan county. Talk about small town living. Hah we had a list of people we've been wanting to try but they all live an hour away and that's a lot of miles... Luckily the Samuelons are always looking for an adventure so they took us! We ended up meeting a few people and saw some pretty parts of PA! We had a really good lesson with this guy who hasn't been to church for years and his wife who isn't a member! They were great. When we got back to civilization we had a hilarious dinner with the Webers. They bought us each a medium pizza from Pizza Hut and expected us to eat it all. I tapped out. They're awesome though! He's basically the 81 year old of Mike Sivulich if you know Poppa Siv! Great night and it's finally starting to warm up here in PA!

Sunday
Church and meetings and studies and all that good stuff. Church here is funny because everyone just calls each other by their first name. You're sitting in Ward council and Bishop just says: "Well Victor what do you think about that?" Definitely takes a little adjusting. We went and saw Donna who is investigating and if I had a dollar for every time she called me honey I'd have 55 dollars. She read the word of wisdom pamphlet but didn't like the part about no hot drinks. We explained to her that coffee can be really addicting and she just wasn't having it. "I don't think it's addictive honey but there was this one time when I went a week without it and I got this huge headache so I had to drink it." Doesn't sound like a dependency to me at all.  We had a SPC meeting with the stake president who is basically a celebrity here in Williamsport. He has a key to the city from the mayor so he's doing alright. Super great guy and awesome family!
Well the weeks are passing by quickly out here. We are so busy all the time and I love it!! The zone is doing great right now and the work is really picking up!! I swear we see little tender mercies every day. I'm so thankful for those!

We are also going golfing today so if I don't respond personally to your email know that  deep down I want to but golf is calling my name. I hope you understand.

Peace and blessings,
