Yooooo so mostly for my family who has been wondering if I will be transferred, the answer is yes. I'm going to Williamsport, PA as a Zone Leader! I'm nervous and excited and all sorts of stuff but I think it will be good for me!! Williamsport is where they play the LLWS for all of you baseball fans. (S/O to T Bing, B Siv, and Kanga)
Tuesday
We were really bold with some people. Getting down to the nitty gritty with less actives is key. It's tough because usually they're really stubborn and don't like to tell you things. Buuuuut when you get to the bottom of it you feel like you have won the battle. We did that yesterday with two ladies and I think we asked some really inspired questions about what holds them back from church! We will see if it changes anything. We also went and helped Bro. Sharon redo his bathroom. Quite a project. I think this thing could be on the DIY network. Hah we took out a super old tub and destroyed a chimney built in the 1800's. We will probably be back there to help some more so stay tuned. Funny story of the day goes to this cashier at a gas station. We had to go in to get a receipt and she just stares at Elder Andrade's name badge for a solid 20 seconds. No joke. Finally she just says: "Now what in the world does that say?" "I can't even read that!" I guess people here can't read Spanish. We explained who we were and she says she wants to go on a mission trip someday. Hey anything is possible.
Wednesday
So remember that super old tub that weighed a ton that we took out? Well turns out it needed to go back in. Hah so we hauled it all the way back in and helped tear some more boards out and what not. This was after a decent day in Westfield and Brocton! So we put the tub back in its place and had to haul to coordination meeting in our nasty clothes. We were forgiven for being late and looking like a couple of coal miners and had a good meeting!
Thursday
Exchanges with Elder Boyes! We had a good day! It was the last district meeting of the transfer so that's always weird. The Hollingsheads decided to feed all 8 of us after the meeting so bless their souls. After lunch Elder Boyes and I hit the road! We saw some less actives and had a good visit with the Nickerson family out on their porch. It was a beautiful day! It's always hard to teach 4 little girls under the age of 9, but we try our best! They're doing well after all of their kids were sick, and Faye has been trying to guess my first name this whole transfer. I told her I would tell her if I leave so we'll see if I'm a man of my word. The Pister family fed us and we had an awesome dinner message. It was definitely spirit led. We shared an awesome member missionary thought and had a really good discussion about referrals and why it can be hard for them to give us referrals. Tears were shed by some and it was super powerful. We don't need to be scared to give referrals people!!
Friday
Lots of service. We had the friendly kitchen which is always great!! Don't forget that Elder Andrade was gone so I was made honorary translator. That's always fun. Haha the kitchen is just the best. Lots of laughs and it's just fun to be working with everyone. The Puerto Ricans talk crap on the white people and then they ask me what they said so you gotta think fast. After that I picked up my comp at a gas station and headed to our latest HGTV project at the Sharon's. I'm learning a lot there. We had a good dinner with the Yarber fam and then finished up with weekly planning.
Saturday
Amazing day! We started out in Westfield with lunch and service with an older couple! So funny. She never stops talking. Ever. We showed Hallelujah and she loved it! She's Pentecostal and was amazed with all of the similarities with our faith. A lot of eyes have been opened through this video! After that we had a lesson with Melissa and she is progressing!! She read the pamphlet, part of the Book of Mormon and watched Hallelujah on her own! She continues to have great questions and she's really starting to get it. She promised to be at church tomorrow so we'll see! She also invited us to Easter dinner with her whole fam! Straight cash!! We were teaching everyone and they were all just asking questions one after the next. It was so great. We picked up a ton of new investigators!! Some of their questions were really funny and others were very sincere and I think we opened their eyes to what the church really is! Great day!
Sunday
Easter!! Church was amazing and Melissa came with her 3 kids!!! Yes!! We also had a bunch of less actives show up so half of the congregation ended up being less actives and investigators. Elder Andrade and I both spoke and I felt like it went pretty well! It was really weird for that to be my last Sunday in Fredonia. I've really grown to love it here and all of the people. It was hard to say goodbye to the Nickersons!! I've really connected with them and had great experiences in their home. I hope for the best! Faye finally guessed my first name so she was pretty happy about that. We also had Easter dinner at the Przybysz house so that makes 3/3 on the holidays for me. I've spent my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter with them! Hah I told them they'll have to add me to the Christmas card!
I've really enjoyed my time here in Fredonia. This place is full of good people and it has a ton of potential for growth!! My testimony has grown and I've learned valuable lessons about myself and things I need to work on! It's been great to spread the Easter message this time of year! I've seen the #Hallelujah video countless times, but I love the quote "In Jesus Christ I have found new life." I think that's applicable for us no matter where we are or what we've done. Discover Him.
Thanks for all of your love and support!
The show goes on,
