Buenos días!!
This week flew by. I mean they all do. We haven't had a spare moment since I got here. I feel like a lot of times in missionary life things fall through and you have to make up some plans on the go. Not in Williamsport. So far so good!!
Monday
Awesome family night with the Leggieris! They invited the bishop and some of their investigator friends! It was great! If you remember from last week, we gave a blessing to a lady who was really going through a rough time. She is now taking the lessons and is super interested! She was there with her husband and it was sweet. They are from Wales and England so they were telling us ALL about it. They can talk. We steered them in the direction of family history and I thought it went pretty well.
Tuesday
We did a lot of work in preparing for zone training this Friday! We put the power point together and all that good stuff. We also had a drop kick back into reality with our dinner appointment. Haha we ate with a family of 5 kids all under the age of 10. That was exciting!! Soo much energy and I felt like I was back at a Kimball family party with kids flying all over the place! They made us some good food and we tried a few more people that night without too much success.
Wednesday
Talked to a born again Christian. Really nice guy who REALLY liked to talk. He told us all about how he had been deaf in one ear for 32 years and then he got healed by some guy. It was pretty interesting to say the least. He whipped out this pamphlet and started to tell us all the stuff that WE believe. That's where I draw the line. All of his stuff was super skewed. It went into deep stuff and had absolutely no sources. I asked him where it got his sources and he couldn't tell me... Dumb pamphlets. Hah we wrapped it up with a prayer and got out of there. The day went a lot better after that and we saw some success! We're working with a guy right now who's torn between us and the JW's. He's read the blueprint of Christ's church twice and is still having this internal struggle. We had a powerful lesson and keep hoping for the best!
Thursday
We were all over the place. Most of the time I don't know where we are in this new area so it makes it tough. Hah it will come! We had some really good lessons but the highlight was with this group of friends! We had talked to this less active named Jeremiah on the phone and ended up setting an appointment! We had never seen or met him before so we were going in blind. Perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. He opens the door and not at all what I was expecting. Long hair, tattoos, about 15 piercings on his face, the whole bit. I think Elder Montgomery and I must have been a bit shocked because he said: "Well, the door is open." I honestly thought we had the wrong address. We ended up having an awesome discussion. This guy has a solid testimony. What made it better is that his buddy is living there with him and is super interested in the church. He wants to come to church and he thinks Mormons are super cool. It was awesome! I think good things will be coming out of this crew.
Friday
Zone training! A little more stressful now that we had to actually plan the training and everything! It went really well though! We had a good time and we had tons of participation. Our zone activity was pretty fun and I think everyone enjoyed it! It feels good to get this off our chests! After training, we went to this barn to help a lady shovel horse crap out of the stall. Animals keep following me around my mission. We wrapped the day up with an awesome dinner with the Allens. They made us Chinese food which I have been wanting forever. God is good.
Saturday
Really busy day again! Everything was super spread out so we spent a lot of time in the car it seemed like! Luckily we have the Samuelsons. They are a senior missionary couple and they are the best!! They are so willing to take us to appointments and it helps a ton!! Highlight of the day was with the Flucks! They're a less active family who fed us tonight for dinner! He is a professional chef and everything he made was amazing. They're awesome. He also offered to make us scrapple. If you don't know what that is, look it up. Sounds interesting enough. We were in a lesson today and Elder Montgomery counted 10 cats just in the kitchen. Welcome to Pennsylvania. I started to have a little allergic reaction so we got out of there. Watch out. Hah you just can't help but love the people out here.
Sunday
Church for the first time in the Williamsport Ward! We have an awesome Ward. There's a little bit of everything here! There are even a few Polynesian families!! I'm so excited. They are roasting a pig for us tomorrow for P-day so it's a good time to be alive. Other than that our day was kind of uneventful! We had to do weekly planning and studies at night so yeah....
Always a good week to be a missionary! I'm settling in a little bit here and starting to put names to faces! Just got to be patient!! This week should be good and we just keep on going! Love you all and thanks for the support!!

Scrapple, also known by the Pennsylvania Dutch name panhaas or "pan rabbit," is traditionally a mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and wheat flour, often buckwheat flour, and spices. The mush is formed into a semi-solid congealed loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then pan-fried before serving. Sounds yummy!
