Week 26 Puerto Ricito and a Memorial

Howdy! I don't have anything clever to put here this morning so I guess just start reading.

Monday
Had a really good Pday! We watched the movie Freetown at the Przybysz house! I don't know if any of you have seen it, but it's pretty good!! Hah it was fun to just relax and watch a movie! We also had a lesson with Carlos and Rosa the Puerto Rican couple! Haha they just talked and talked but I was following the conversation really well and I can understand them!! Haha it's been a loooong journey from my first Spanish lesson, so I'm grateful for progress! Just don't talk to Puerto Ricans about food. They have their own words for all of that stuff.
Tuesday
It snowed. A LOT. Haha probably a foot I would say!! Crazy!! We spent a good chunk of the day shoveling snow but it really paid off!! We found 3 new investigators so hallelujah. We were so guided today it was great!!  First cool thing was we had planned to go shovel some snow and help Grandma Joyce out, but someone had beat us to it! I then had this super strong feeling we needed to go see Sister Gray. Hah she answers her door once in every blue moon, but I felt like we needed to go. We passed all these people shoveling snow and I think Elder Andrade wanted to hurt me but hey I'm the designated driver.... Sooooo yeah. Anyways we get to Sister Grays right as her son (non member) is out shoveling snow! We ended up having a really good lesson with them and I was thankful we followed that prompting! Second cool story was we were out in Dunkirk (Puerto Ricito) and we had planned to see this Investigator named Anna. I had another strong feeling aka the Holy Spirit tell me look Hallz, not tonight buddy. So I said well lead me, guide me, walk beside me. Sure enough we were guided again. We found 2 new Investigators. Bang!! Haha we talked to a guy named Josue and a lady from the Philippines named Clarita! They were both super kind and receptive to our message so it was a great day!! I know we're blessed when we listen to that still small voice! Don't know if we would ever have met those people if we wouldn't have followed those promptings!
Side note: Elder Andrade gave me a little hair cut with much better results than the last time.

Wednesday
Had a pretty busy day! Highlight of the day was having dinner and a lesson with the Nickersons. We had a really good time with them and we set family goals!! It was amazing. This family is changing so much and I love it!! We set 10 goals that I think will be awesome. They want to go to the temple to get sealed which will be so great. Hah I can talk for days about them and how happy it makes me to see them change but I'll leave it at that! We also went down to Erie to sleep before Sister Wells memorial! We got locked out in the cold so we had to boost an Elder up over this railing so that was a little adventure. It's all a part of the experience.
Thursday
We woke up early to get to the memorial in Cranberry! The memorial was amazing!! I don't think there was a dry eye in the whole chapel. All of the talks were amazing and at the end all the missionaries sang the song "We'll Bring the World His Truth/Army of Helaman" That was sooo powerful!! I wish each of you could've been there. It was so cool to be a small part of that! It also made for a super long day for us. Since we live in Canada basically, it takes us a long time to get to Pittsburgh. I think we spent a little over 6 hours in the car... Hah once we got back we had an appointment in Westfield and Bro. Smith took us. Man that guy can talk. Hah I felt right at home though because he started talking about land and how the government is taking over all of it and all this stuff. It felt like the night before the deer hunt when my Uncle Mike and Grandpa Halls are talking about the old alfalfa field and how I need to go sit on the BLM which borders the CWMU and if I face east and the sun rises at the right time I might shoot a big deer. Haha there's a lot of good red necks out here in NY!!
Friday
Wasted a bunch of miles to drive out to Stockton (20 minutes) for nothing! Well I guess I shouldn't say that. Hah the person we had an appointment with didn't answer the door or the phone. 🙄 Nice. So we're driving along back home and we saw this poor lady on the side of the road who had swerved off into a snow bank. So being the great missionaries we are, we stopped and helped her out! People are so amazed when two young bucks in shirts and ties stop. We eventually got her out and she wanted all of our information to send us something. I guess we'll see on that one. Moral of this story is always help out when you can!!
Saturday
Good day with some door to door success!! Haha we've decided if you really want to go find investigators you gotta knock some doors. We looked for any signs of Puerto Rican last names or flags and knocked their door. Worked out pretty well and we set some return appointments! We also taught a few Spanish lessons which is awesome!! We've taught a bunch this week and I love it!! Hopefully my Spanish is getting better!! Little side note, I was in a snapchat for the first time in a good while.  That was interesting. Haha we were tracting and we knocked on this door when a young guy came out with his phone. He said: "Hold up fellas let me finish this snapchat." He then turns it at us and takes a video selfie.  I of course said my hello to the snapchat world. My snapchat game is still strong.
Sunday
Church was great. This week was great. We broke my record for most lessons taught in a week and even though numbers aren't the most important thing, it's good to know Fredonia is on the up swing.  We had 28 at church (also new record) and Faye spoke!! She got super nervous and she didn't think it was any good but I was SO HAPPY to see her up there!! It was the icing on the cake to be honest. To teach her all the lessons, baptize her, and then see her speak and share her precious testimony was amazing. It reminded me of the scripture I have on my plaque back home D&C 18:15-16. I have seen that promise come true! This one soul that I have helped bring unto our Father has made me sooo happy!! It's amazing. We also had a lesson with the Olrogg family which was great. I love them! Their lives have been crazy so it was good to catch up with them.

I want to end this email with a little shout out to Sister Wells. She always ended her emails with the phrase "Have faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way." I hope this week to be able to do that!!

Have faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way,

Elder Halls
Pictures: Too much snow; Faye gave a great talk today so we had to take a solid picture; The King of Canada AKA Elder Miller. One of my best buds out here on the mission
