Buuuuuennnooooos Días!! Hope everyone enjoyed the super bowl!! Happy to hear that Peyton and the Broncos got it done! In honor of the Super Bowl Elder Ekins and I tossed the football around in the apartment last night. 'Merica.
Highlight of this week was going to the temple again!! Palmyra is the best and I love it there!!
Tuesday
Had a super busy day! We had lunch with a couple out in Westfield and that was hilarious!! It was Bro. Smith and his wife Irene. Irene isn't a member and she is a RIOT. Hah she's straight out of Brooklyn and talks SOO much. I used to think my mom talked a lot. Not anymore. After that fun adventure we went and met with Tishie. Tishie for an unknown reason loves me. Probably because I never yell at her to stop smoking. Hah we had a really good chat with her and at the end I told her I might be getting transferred soon. She requested President Johnson's number immediately and said she'd have a talk with him. Gotta love less actives. We then had Taco Tuesday, helped Ammon become a stud, and played soccer again. Turns out I got picked first and scored a goal. #D6bound I also got "megged" or however you spell it. It's basically like getting crossed over in basketball. Gotta stop letting that happen but Latinos are gooooood! Soccer has been good for getting ourselves out there! I've been able to explain what the church is to a bunch of kids now and I think it's great!
Wednesday
Another very busy day. We ran out of time to eat! Hah I love being busy though so it worked out!! We taught 6 lessons which is insane for us. Wayyy up I feel blessed. We were just flying around Chautauqua county spreading the good word. Highlight of the day was teaching a guy named Walter. Walter is a stud. During the lesson he basically just talked himself into coming back to church which was awesome!! Hah he just was rambling on (as people do) and told us he wants to have his roots deeper in the gospel. He said: "Man, I should probably come back to church." Yes, you should. If only it were always that easy. We also saw the Matos which is always a highlight para mi. I'm starting to understand Puerto Rican Spanish which is sweeeeet. Haha props to all the brothers learning languages around the world. It's not always easy. We had a good meeting with them and hope to see them at church this week!
Thursday
Went on an exchange in Jamestown with Elder Foster! We started it out with a good district meeting and a farewell lunch for my boy Elder Richens! He's been in the zone the longest out of all of us so we're pretty sure he's getting transferred! We went to this amazing pizza place and they gave us an extra pizza for free, so yet again wayyy up we feel blessed. After that Elder Foster and I hit the path and we were super successful! We taught a bunch of people and answered a ton of questions for this guy who has been investigating the church online! He told us he's been studying online and I'm just thinking ohhhhh nooooo.... What has this poor guy read. Luckily he was smarter than the average joe and realized that not everything on the Internet is true so he asked us!! Bless his soul. We cleared up a ton of things and it was awesome! This guy was the definition of real intent. He wants to know the REAL answers! I hope J-town can keep teaching him!
Saturday
Went to the Palmyra temple again!! That makes trip three for me to Palmyra and 4 total temple trips on my mission. So far so good. We were there all day, and we did everything!! Started off with baptisms with our recently reactivated member Sue Beattie!! That was cool to see her do that after we've been teaching her for 4 months! I love being in the the temple and to be in the temple for 8 hours was pretty great. After that we got some big news!! Elder Ekins is getting transferred!! Super weird!! We definitely weren't expecting it, but it happened. He will be headed to Pittsburgh and I'm staying!! My new companion will be Elder Andrade who is straight out of Mexico!! Haha bang bang Spanish gang is back. I'll miss Elder Ekins haha that guy is a homie. We got along really well and I'll miss his crazy ways.
Sunday
Had a good day at church! We were asked to go to primary and be the substitute teachers for the sunbeams. Ohhhhhhhh boyyyyyy. Looooots of energy from a crew of 4 year olds. I have to admit it was a nice change from the normal church schedule!! Lots of laughter and telling kids not to throw chalk across the classroom... A few dozen animal crackers later they were happy and our job was done. We also had a really good dinner with the Young family up in Jamestown! They're awesome and hooked us up with some really good food!! I love going there!
This week is gonna be fun as I get my new comp and start a new transfer!! I'm looking forward to it!!
Stay out of trouble,
Elder Halls
