Buenoooooos Dias!!
Another week down here in the CCM, and time is flying! I´m about to hit my month mark! Sometimes it feels like I´ve been out for a lot longer than that, but time really is flying by! I´m amazed at how much I´ve learned! The spirit here is great and I love being a missionary!
This week I don´t feel like I have as much to write about! P day kinda snuck up on me! This week just happened and as I fell asleep last night I had to remind myself that it was Pday! Hah but I´ll try and keep you all entertained. ;)
So the reason I put the subject ¿Como las pastillas? is because I think it´s the funniest thing. Pretty much everyday when I talk to the Latinos, one of them will say ´´Oh Elder Halls Como las Pastillas? hahah i just laugh and say yes! Haha for all of us gringos como las pastillas means Like the Cough drops? Hardly anyone back home compared me to the cough drop but I guess here in Mexico it´s a bigger deal!! My companion and I have tried really hard to talk to the Latinos more! We sit by them for Lunch and Dinner and only speak spanish! It´s super good because basically my spanish is limited to the gospel haha. When I talk to them we end up talking sports and just normal stuff which I love! Today we are playing them in soccer and some of them are semi-pros so it could be interesting.... haha anyways they like to give us traba lenguas which are tongue twisters so we try their spanish ones and then we give them English twisters! If you want to try a hard spanish one give this a try with rolling your ´´R´s´´ EL BARRIL CORRE POR EL FERROCARRIL.
Yesterday we had TRC which I think I´ve talked a little bit about. We basically just teach whoever they bring in a short lesson about prayer, or some principle of the gospel. Yesterday my companion and I taught a convert family of 6 years! It was a mom and her two sons named Jaríl, Sebastian, and Vicky. Jaríl was 7 years old and one of the cutest kids I´ve seen! I wish I would have had my camera so I could send a picture! Anyways I asked him what he likes to do and he said that he loved to pray. We invited him to say the opening prayer and you would´ve thought I had asked if he wanted 100 dollars. He was SO excited!! He said a LOOONG prayer for a 7 year old and invited the spirit to be there! It was awesome. I couldn´t understand a lot of what was being said because the Mom spoke a dialect and spanish was her second language! I´ve learned that it doesn´t really matter how much you know, but just that you´ll listen! Most people really just want someone that will listen to them! PMG tells how important it is to listen and I know I need to be better at that!
Well to wrap up I just want to say I know that prayer is so important. I´ve prayed here in the CCM more than I ever have before, and I´ve seen the blessings of it. I know that God hears our prayers. I´ve had some awesome experiences this week with prayer and I invite you all to make prayer important in your life if it´s not already! Love you all!!
Elder Halls
