Hola,
Tuesday was a long day. We started by saying goodbye to Dorothy which was harder than I thought... She started crying and it was really quite the moment. I don't really have words to explain it but it was really sweet to see that she cared so much about us. From there I drove the truck and trailer to State College which was a good time. 😏 We rolled into Harrisburg at about 8 o'clock and got settled in! Twas a long day but good to be here in HBG!
We bike a lot. We each have our own bike and it's honestly pretty fun. It sure makes the days fly by though. We were kind of all over the place on Wednesday but I got to meet some awesome people. This ward has some awesome recent converts and they just love the gospel. I got to meet Denise and Denisha who are twins that got baptized a few months ago. They were so funny! Hah they love the church and the missionaries. We taught them more about Joseph Smith and they seemed so grateful for what we taught them. This ward just seems loaded with good people and I'm excited!
We've been getting along really well in the trio. Elder Rich went to Herriman High School so we know a lot of the same people, it's been fun to talk about some of the good old boys. Elder Gray is from Lehi and as kind as they come. This should be a good transfer!
We had a pretty awesome weekend. There's so much to do out here in HBG! We found this awesome guy named Benny and then got back in touch with the Rodriguez family who my papi Renteria taught when he was here with Ibarra. They're an awesome family and their daughter Cindy said she realized she missed a chance last time but wants to try again. We're super excited for them! I hope now is their time. Later that day we did some service with the Bishop and it was some hard work. I haven't really ditched the shirt and tie for service in awhile and it felt good to be doing some of that type of work! This bishop just barely got called in the ward so it was definitely good to ease some of his stress!
We did some sweet service on Saturday helping out with a run USA event. We helped register everyone which was the best thing ever. We literally met everyone there and I loved it. I'm all about good PR and it was awesome to get out in the community like that. We got to talk to a few people after the race so we'll see if anything comes from it! I hope we can get back there for another event.
Cindy came to church on Sunday which was awesome. The members were so good in fellowshipping her and I think she had a good experience!
I'm really happy to be here in HBG. To be honest, it was hard to leave P7. I grew to love a lot of people there! I've come to see that there's also so much to do here that it's kind of overwhelming. Some great missionaries have served here and planted really good seeds in the hearts of these people. I've been really impressed so far with how kind people on the street have been to us. It seems like there's just more love here towards neighbors and the church in general. Maybe it's because we're on bikes. 😏I'm excited to see what these next couple of months bring.
