Heyyyyy,
We're starting to eat dinners with part member families and it's been awesome! Two birds with one stone. Steelers season is heating up and that's all people want to talk about... I don't mind but I wish I knew what was going on!
Wednesday was district meeting with all 14 of us in the primary room. It's a party. We had a really good discussion on the power of prayer and it made me realize it's something I constantly need to work on! I also went on exchanges with Elder Hatch who's from Monticello or the reservation as he says. We had a good day filled with finding. Lots of knocking doors with not a lot of talking to people... That's how you bond with your companion. We also went and tried their Spanish potentials. That seems to be a staple of exchanges and this was no exception. We ran into this really humble guy named Oracio and he was sweet! Totally accepted a Book of Mormon and we talked to him for awhile! I still love speaking Spanish so no changes there....
We had an awesome dinner with the Miracle family along with a good team up that night with Bro. Miracle. They have 5 kids ages 9 and under so it was a stellar evening. Kids say the best things and they hold nothing back. We went and saw Sis. Love and her son Merl and it was perfect timing. We had struck out with everyone else we wanted to see and they were our last option. Sometimes the last option is the best option. She has been having lots of doubts and what not and we were there to clear it up. She has a humble heart so things could happen over there. Her son gave the best prayer I've heard in soooo long. He works landscaping 7 days a week but really wants to come to church. He told us that if it rains he will get work off. His prayer went as follows: "And please Lord, make it rain on Sunday. The weather man ain't never been right this whole year but please help him be right on Sunday." It was cash.
On Saturday we had an amazing dinner with this Italian guy named Enzo. He made some delicious food and it was a fantastic night. He's agnostic but super open and loves his "Angels" as he calls us. They want to throw Elder Liston a going away party so that will be awesome. These people have such great faith in Christ and it's super refreshing. Wish y'all could've been there.
Sunday was one of the best days at church or maybe just one of the funniest. So much stuff happened that was just good for a laugh. The other Elders in our ward had a baptism after church for a guy they've been teaching. He's in his 30's, and comes from a part member family that is coming back to church. The service went really well and the closing prayer was awesome. He went up there with his wife and they legit tag teamed the prayer. It was amazing! Haha she just said the first half and Michael jumped in mid prayer and closed it out. I think everyone was shocked, but loved it. Man, it was just a good day for that family. The Ballards fed us that night as well and they're just great people! Gotta love people out here!
