What's up!? Hope all is well for you guys as you squeeze in the last few weeks of summer fun. Everything is fine in Pittsburgh so don't you even worry.
It's been quite the week. It's been weird and different adjusting to life as an assistant! There's a lot of new roles and responsibilities but I'm really enjoying it! There's been a lot of long days so far but they're good days as well. A lot has happened so I'll try to fill y'all in.
Tuesday was transfers with all the excitement that comes with it. We actually had a really smooth one and everyone was on time! In the afternoon we got to go on this cool hike with the missionaries going home! It was pretty cool to spend a little bit of time with them before they shipped out! Kind of weird because you have all these guys almost going home including my companion and then there's me. Haha you gotta stay strong. We took them to the airport on Wednesday morning at 5:00 so that was super early... It was a good time and now they're all back!
We spent a lot of time in the office and the mission home this week preparing trainings and other administrative things. It's been awesome to be able to spend some more time with the Johnsons. They are truly amazing people and my love and appreciation for them has grown a ton this week! President was nice enough to share with us his precious Brusters. It's this amazing ice cream that I think they only have out on the east coast.... If you're ever out here you have to try it. That stuff is gooooood.
Friday was MLC in Altoona and I was really happy with how everything went. We trained on the importance of exchanges which was a super good reminder for me. There's a ton of power in exchanges with missionaries when they're done right and I need to be better at it! I think the other missionaries liked it as well so kudos to the Spirit on that one.
Church was great on Sunday and we have a pretty awesome ward from what I can see! It's a good mix of young families sprinkled with some more seasoned members. As always there's a few characters and some families that love missionaries. We will definitely cash out there.
I love being a missionary and my testimony grows everyday! I've been thinking a lot about the temple lately and the importance of it. It truly is the place where we unite families and God pours his highest blessings upon us. I hope that we can all make it a priority in our lives!
Random stuff
- We drive a Chevy Colorado pick up truck. I feel legit.
- A member made us some amazing Cafe Rio burritos. It's been too long.
- Our district is full of ballers. It's going to be a good transfer.
