Week 47 Kaley is baptized and an apartment upgrade

Gooood morning from PA! Seems like everyone went on vacation this week so I hope you had a good time! We had a crazy week, but we're pumped to be settled in finally!

Tuesday
Jackie needs to accept that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I pray that guy can come to the temple open house. We also got the keys to our new apartment and  went to check it out! I definitely approve. Nicest apartment I've seen so far on my mission. We're pretty stoked that there is a washer and dryer. That's a blessing in itself. We dedicated the home which was pretty cool and we're just all around excited to move. The wife of a baptist pastor referred herself to Mormon.org which was pretty sweet! We went to talk to her and she was super nice! He's the pastor of a BAPTIST church but claims himself as non denominational... I think there's some general confusion over there. The Peñas are doing solid and Enrique was a huge help. That guy is a homie. Can't remember if I mentioned him but he's Juan Carlos' cousin that is here for three months. Viva Chile.

Wednesday
Went to two district meetings so that was good! Talked a lot about finding which is always a great reminder. Nothing happens until you have someone to teach! Elder Holdaway and I then went on an exchange and had a good enough day! Highlight for me was at night. We were walking to a members house to pump them up for the Philly temple when out of nowhere I spotted a woman carrying a large print Santa Biblia... Now this might be common in South America but here in PA it was crazy. Especially because she was white. I started talking to her in Español and found out she was the director of shouting praises (alabanzas) at the church she goes to... Hah what are the odds. Cool to see that we chose to park our car and we found her. We couldn't have done it any other way.
Thursday
Taught Andy in the morning so it's good to know he's back on the radar. We're hoping he gets more stable here soon. Spent a good portion of the day deep cleaning our apartment for the move. I must say, this place is starting to look good right as we leave. Missionaries are messy creatures. The Lakes set themselves with the date of November 12 to get sealed as a family so we pray they can do that! It was pretty powerful to be there! Dylan (our investigator) confused Joseph Smith with Sam Smith so looks like progress will be a little slower than we hoped. At least they both have powerful voices... On a spiritual note we felt prompted to go try this less active girl who I haven't seen since I first got to Willy. She was super surprised to see us and it was where we needed to be. Her Gram had just passed away and she needed spiritual strength. Always great to see how the Lord works in mysterious ways.
Friday
We taught Shaina in the morning which was awesome. She's our age but definitely doesn't look like it. She's really open to the Book of Mormon and committed herself to read all of first Nephi! She's got that desire. We cleaned our house and moved that night! I must say it was pretty smooth. We were gone once all the trucks showed up in less than an hour. All that hard work paid off! Montoursville is awesome and we're stoked to be here!!
Saturday
Helped move a guy in the Ward who was definitely NOT ready to move. He should've learned from us... We finished unpacking and making this place a home! It's great to have all this craziness over with.
Sunday
Kaley was baptized!! Awesome day and the Ward came through big time for us. There were a lot of people there to support her and she loved it! That family is on a roll right now! Perfect ending to a crazy week!

Random stuff
  • Talked to this guy named Pipo. He was very clear that he believed in God but not Jesus. All I could think of was "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 Pipo was an interesting fella.
  • The water in the font was a lot warmer than it was for the last baptism. We actually have warm water here in Williamsport. 👍🏼

Have a good week everyone!
