It's a great day to be alive everybody. Today we are going to hit some golf balls at this cool driving range so I'm pretty happy. We had our ups and downs this week but so does every missionary. It's part of life! I Also have some good stories for all of you so enjoy.
Tuesday
Had a solid day out in our area trying to find people! We had a lesson with Bro. Trout about General conference and tried our best to pump him up for it. We'll see what happens! The real interesting thing happened at dinner... We went to an older ladies home in the ward named Sister Rosa. Very sweet old lady that lives by herself and loves company. Anyways, the story starts when we sit down to eat. I looked at my salad fork and saw a nice lipstick stain and the left overs from whoever last ate with that fork... So we're already off to a great start. I quickly called an audible and just ate with the big fork. That was all fine and dandy until dessert came along. She collected my plate and my fork leaving me with the lipstick stained salad fork. I thought to myself that it was fine and I would just go for it. So we're eating our pie when all of a sudden her cursed cat jumps on my lap. Why? Because that's what cats do. I politely waited for the cat to remove itself before I did forcefully, but in the process it whipped its tail right on top of the whip cream of my pumpkin pie! Great... Well here's the golden question, what do you do?? I decided not to offend this old lady and ate every last bite. I'm a lucky man.
Wednesday
Headed back to the promised land of Jamestown, NY. For those of you still following this adventure I started my mission about a year ago in the Jamestown ward. It was awesome to go back!! We went up there to do a blitz of the Jamestown zone leaders area which is part of our responsibilities! We did some solid finding and picked up an investigator named Daniel who just pulled over and started talking to us. We don't complain. It was just awesome to see some of the members I grew to love and see how they were doing. I have a lot of good memories from the Jamestown days!
Thursday
This was a rough day. Ask me about it some other time.
Friday
Interviews with President Johnson again and it was fantastic. Interviews just get better and better as time goes on. We talked about developing spiritual gifts which is something I need to work on! We've all been given so much and we have to continue to improve. We went and saw the Love crew that night and that was interesting. She's very into looking for signs and what not. For example, she said she was reading online and read that a bible was found open in all the wreckage after the 9/11 plane crashes. She told us it was opened to 1 Kings and asked us what that meant... "Well what scriptures are in 1 Kings?" Haha these are the types of questions we get. She also wanted to turn the lights off when we prayed so it takes all types to run the world.
Saturday & Sunday
Conference baby. As a missionary General Conference is like the Super Bowl. We all get pumped for the talks and listen closely. When they announced Holland at the Priesthood session we were freaking out a little bit. I know, we're lame. I have truly come to love conference and it's something I look forward to! I thought there were several inspired messages and I'm looking forward to studying them in depth in the coming weeks. We had some awesome members AKA the Ballards and Fergusons who invited us over to watch it so that was sweet. It was a great weekend and I'm grateful for a living prophet and apostles. I hope President Monson keeps on going. He wasn't looking too great.
Random thoughts
- "I would pray, but I don't have a bedroom." -Sis. Love (Less Active we teach)
- Some members hooked us up with tacos in between session of GC. Blessings.
Stay out of trouble,
