Week 103 See You Soon

Hola,

We went to the DC temple on Tuesday which was an awesome experience. It was so cool to be there with Cindy and feel the peace of the temple. When Cindy was baptized for her relative we all felt the Sprit super strongly. I love being at the temple! We had some Cafe Rio for lunch which made the whole thing that much better. It had been far too long since the last time I had some sweet pork. 😍

I can't remember if I've talked about Javier in the past, but he's a stud. He moved into our area from the other side of the river and has been awesome so far. He's been taught most of the lessons and been to church a couple of times! We taught him on Wednesday and he accepted a baptismal date for September 9th. I think he'll be ready! He's just super humble and wants to change his life. He's a cool guy!

Thursday was packed. We saw the twins in the morning and they were nice enough to make us breakfast! It was a good lesson and they're such good member missionaries! They're always talking to everyone and they generate a lot of referrals for us! District meeting was good and at the end we sang "Para Siempre Dios estΓ© con Vos" (God be with you till we meet again) I have loved that song since the MTC and it was cool to sing it again with the Elders. We got to teach Marco and Noemi with Bro. Romero which is always good but Marco is a tough egg to crack. The guy works 70 hour weeks and I feel like He just doesn't have a ton of desire right now to join the church. We're trying to find out where he's at, but it's difficult. Maybe someday!

Someone stole our helmets... I thought it was pretty funny to be honest, my sweaty head has been in that thing all summer and someone else is sporting it now. Hopefully they needed it more than we did. πŸ˜‚ We saw Terry later in the day which was a humbling visit. He has no furniture so we just sat on the floor and read the Book of Mormon with him. Terry has a good heart and it's always good to teach him, I hope he progresses.

Saturday was awesome. We had a great lesson with Natalie and her friends and it just made me want to be a missionary forever. It was the type of lesson where they just listened intently and believed everything we taught. I felt like it was one of the best lessons we've taught as a companionship. I said goodbye to our friend Richard and wished him well on his quest for truth. I feel like he'll join the church someday! The night ended with the Rodriguez for Diamantina's birthday/my despedida. They were super kind to me and gave me all these nice gifts for going home. I don't know what I did to deserve meeting this great family but it's been a blessing. We love them all so much!

Sunday was the first day of the group and it was a little disappointing numbers wise. None of our less actives showed up but at least now there's a lot of room for improvement right? πŸ˜‰ The Rodriguez came as well as Javier so it was sweet to see all of them there! That night we saw Rahminx with Bro. Rife and it was a pretty funny lesson. He was giving us a hard time that there aren't any black people in the gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet... I hadn't really ever thought about it, but there are 0 black people in that pamphlet. I guess we need hood versions of these things. Rahminx was just joking with us but I'm going to miss that guy. He was fun to teach!

Well everybody, this is it. I return home this Wednesday and I'm excited but also sad to leave a place I have grown to love. Above all, I'm grateful for the time I have had to serve the Lord as a full time missionary. It has blessed my life tremendously. I have learned so much about God, His Son Jesus Christ, and myself. I know that they live and love us. They want us to be happy and choose their plan. I'm grateful for the Savior's atoning sacrifice. He truly did suffer for our sins and infirmities so that he could best succor us when we struggle. Joseph Smith is and forever will be the prophet of the Restoration. This is the official church of Jesus Christ that grants access to all the ordinances necessary for salvation. I know these things to be true and this knowledge has brought me a lot of happiness throughout my life and mission.

I love you all and will see many of you soon!
